 POETICAL ME

One Last Breath

Days of old are winding down

The better part of what was
but a faint memory

Here age holds keepsakes with
arthritic hands and eyes doze
more often

An era lived, loved, near lost

Memory fleeting fast
Faded photos share a night table
for two
Younger then

Rest seems the posture of late
slow our maximum speed

One last breath, just shy redemption
