NO ROOM AT THE INN

Have We Made Room For Jesus?

This is such a busy time …
We’re running to and fro!
We’ve got special invitations stacked!
A-partying we must go!

With our things to do list growing,
Our time just slips away…
 All this shopping, wrapping, baking
Takes the best part of our day!

And we must make room for company…
Those out- of- towner guest.
Fresh linens, towels, fancy soaps…
Supplying all the best.

But have we made room for Jesus?
Is He invited, too?
After all, this is His party…
Leaving Him out wouldn’t do!

There wasn’t room in Bethlehem…
He wasn’t asked to stay.
 Insensitive inn keeper hearts
Are still turning Him away.

He’ll respond to invitation
But won’t push to be included
For never has the Son of God
Ever forcibly intruded

Christmas bells are ringing out
 Announcements of His birth.
Have we made room for Jesus?
Or is this just a time of mirth?

Christmas 2012

~~Dedicated to Erlene~~

Luke 2:7
And she gave birth to her firstborn, a son.
She wrapped him in cloths and placed him
in a manger, because there was no room
 for them in the inn.
