          My mind, irrespective of whether I am awake

          Or asleep travels to far distant corners;

          This far distant moving Mind is the light of lights-

          Let this mind* fill the whole world with good will!

          ~*~

          It is by virtue of this mind,

          The enlightened endowed

          With deep insight and operative skill,

          perform actions as a sacrifice;

          This mind is extraordinary, highly dynamic,

          Effective, and hidden with creative power.

          The mind represents insight, awareness,

          Patience, immortal light and nectar

          Within the human beings;

          Without mind no action can be performed -

          Let this mind fill the whole world with good will!

          ~*~

          This mind penetrates all the past,

          present and the future;

          Itself extends into all actions

          Endowed with seven sacrifices.

          The mind is the receptacle of Vedic scriptures,

          They are located in it, just as the spokes

          Contained in the center of the wheel of a chariot;

          All the stuff of the consciousness

          Of all human beings is interlocked in it;

          As an expert charioteer mobilizes the horses

          With reins So does this universal mind

          Which is the light of lights, mobilizes all beings.

          It is the most dynamic and fast moving

          Director located in the heart -

          Let this mind fill the whole world with good will!
