A smile unknown to us no less
Laughter lost on heart hard pressed
When does it end so it begins?
To feel what was, was once pretend
Of age not quite to understand
Innocence and so we stand
Asking again, how could this be?
Too short these lives that made family
Brief spells they were just parts of many
Beyond the hugs and kisses plenty
Soft to touch they breathed and left
Too soon, too young, as angels wept
Their purpose here before leaving
Became reasons, to heal our grieving
Hearts of gold with many questions
Some secret, too secret to mention
Whispered to the many ears
Of proud parents just theirs to hear
The young once held of infant scent
Of perfumed love, from Heaven sent
To the families of the children lost at
Sandy Hook Elementary
