The soul has much to say

Behold He comes...(Merry Christmas!)

More than
two millennia
ago

The greatest gift
ever
was given

Born
of
a virgin

in a city
of little
renown

The Great Physician
for mankind's
condition

was here

Almighty God
clothed
in flesh

The Ancient of Days
had come
to earth

Heaven's Rose
planted in anything
but Eden

The Father's
very best
offered

to a world
unworthy
of such a jewel

Perfection
wrapped in
swaddling clothes

Royalty
coming to us
by way

of a pauper

No chariots
No horns
No kingly garments

His floor
a bed
of hay

His ceiling
the very stars
He created

Forgiveness
lay in a
manger

Salvation
wrapped His
tiny fingers

around
a carpenter's
thumb

The reason
for the season
that is our life

...had arrived
