In a manger, on a wintry night
there was a gift presented
of Heaven Sent Light --
and Mary held Him.
She held life, love,
and innocence in her arm
and she would do her best to
protect Him from harm.
She held the one
known as God's Son
She held Him
within the quiet
witness of the world.
She held the Christ-Child
who would help
many to be born again
and given a fresh start
with a blessed new heart.
