Shield's street's cairns Christmas tree bliss for people train
tourists shunting across the intersections
ghosting past early bird specials cheap night out
to be seen on those footpath catwalks, then some.

So it remains throughout the year, picture post
card perfect not to be missed in the night scenes
from perrotas open aired restaurant's stint
through a dry spell before it's monsoon passion.

Self lit tribute to this place on this bay of
trinity, the lagoon just past those traffic
lights in go no further mode, the esplanade's
squeeze where Johnno plays his cairns back street blues beat.

And so it goes there's a sacred spot on a
stool in a place where the stories come to life
from the passerby people living their lives
in a fashion, in love with place for no reason.
