GLASS HEART

50's Fab Pictures, Images and Photos

Hold my heart
but do not grasp it too tightly…

No, it will not break, for the shards
of so many fractured loves have already
created a cherished mosaic as yet unfinished,

and the memories of feelings it holds are far
too vast to only encompass the small world it
once knew, so do not hold too tightly…

With every loss,
every tender repair,
slivers of love have been given away
to others who needed them more than I…

sparkling remnants
scattered to the four winds
like the shimmering bits of sea glass
that lay upon the sands of time…

infinite, beautiful, imperfect pieces of me
shared, illuminating the hearts of others,
joining in the now, rejoicing, living

hold my heart
yet do not think it belongs only to you…

for love cannot be confined but must shine
in all its complex glory, through each of us,
like pieces of stained glass on
the window of life or
this glass mosaic

that is my heart
