As we wait expectantly for the New Year to dawn -
Is it with hope and anticipation - that keeps us 
Looking forward - for the things we yearn?
Is it the promise of new opportunities - that make 
Us step out boldly - without looking back ?
Will our heads be lifted upward - as we walk with
Confidence - along the future track ?
Or - will we drag our heels - holding on to what has gone -
That cannot be retrieved again ?
Do we still grip the old - when opportunities new - are 
Reaching out - to draw us on ?

But - lest we forget our friends - and all the Good 
We hold in Wisdom's store -
Let's link our hands and hearts together - 
and step boldly - through 
Tomorrow's Door .

Only God - who is the Alpha and Omega - the Beginning and 
the End - knows what lies in store for each of us . But we can 
learn from the past and trust Him for the future - no matter what
it brings - and hold on to those we love - as we walk together 
into the New Year.
