I AM HIS SHEEP - HE IS MY SHEPHERD

this is my adaptation of Psalm 23.

written 2 : 1 : 13


What a joy it is to know - I shall never want .
I am His sheep - He is my Shepherd - Good -
Who knows His sheep by name- and cares .
He does no harm - but leads us quietly by waters - still
Where souls can be restored - repaired .
Oh weary soul - you need this kind of rest -
Where you can lay those heavy burdens down 
And be at peace - secure upon the Saviour's breast .
He knows the way we take - the route marked out 
For each of us - the tunnels dark and deep - and 
Also plains of lushest green - wherewith to feed His sheep .
But - whether highest hill - or valley low - our Shepherd leads us in 
The paths- where streams of loving kindness flow.
Though there be fiercest dangers lurking near - He tells us -
With assurance - ' Do not fear '  - as with 
The Rod of His command - all demons flee - and 
Fearsome monsters cringe at His Authority.
We bear His mark upon our heads - who are His own -
Anointed - Crowned - with Oil of Joy - no longer 
Outcast - or alone .
A mighty feast He sets before us - who accept His 
Mercy - from His Heavenly Throne .
Oh child of God - let go of anguish - fear 
And strife - Look up to Him who has Redeemed the World 
At Calvary - with His own Life - and knows that this 
World - is a stepping stone to - immortality
Abundant life - where we will dwell - in courts 
Of Wonder - with our 
Shepherd King - for all
Eternity .

What a wonderful Day that will be when we see our loving 
Saviour face to face  -  and look into the eyes of 
The Good Shepherd .
