THE - SCARS - OF - LOVE -

""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

WRITTEN 8 : 1 : 13

I read a story recently of a little boy - who was swimming
in a lake . A place he had swum safely in many times before
but , this time his mother , who was close by , heard him
screaming , and when she looked towards the water, she
saw a large alligator gripping on to her son's legs, trying to
pull him under .

The mother ran to the edge of the water , and got hold of his
arms - and the tug began . Even though she was no match
against the strong alligator , the mother would not let go -
and with all her might - and a cry to God to help her - after a
terrible struggle , she beat the fierce creature , and dragged
her son to safety ,from its' grip.

The boy's legs were badly wounded, but he was alive , and
in time the wounds healed - but the scars remained .

This is my poem of that story .

THE SCARS OF LOVE

Every time the young man looked at his limbs - he only saw
The scarlet wounds- when - as a boy his legs were caught by a
Ferocious alligator - a hungry beast - a preditor.
The creature only had one thing on its' mind - and that was food -
And - here it was in human form - as easy prey - and looking good .
But - he did not reckon with the power of love that day ( that heard the
Fearsome cries of her now captive son ) - from a mother standing near the bay.
She flew into the water's edge - and grabbed her boy - and pulled and pulled
With all her might - and with heartfelt pleas to God - she won the fight .
Though bloodied and afraid - her son was safe and sound - his wounded body
Now a mess - upon the red stained ground .
But - time and care would heal the outward damage - from this tug of war .
And all that showed - in years to come - to prove a mother's love -
Remained - the scarlet - jagged scar .

"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

Such is the power of our Saviour's love - as He wrestled for our souls - to win
us back from the enemy.

I thank Him He won me back .

God bless you all today.

with love from Stella x
