In the quiet of the evening - my heart is calm and still - After the hustle and bustle of life - has left its footprint Of experience on the doormat - where this wanderer's Boots remain - but - whose feet no longer fill. No longer yearning to go here or there - to foreign climes. But content to stay - and be a flower in the home patch Now - to help those in this needy place - and times . But - no need for sorrow or regret - This is not loss or backward step - to want To sit at Homely's door - As there are those who are adventuring - with Compass set - for far off Isles - and distant shore - Who may not feel the need to stay at home - and Bend the knee - for those close by - as I do now . But - all is well - and all in all - I am content - yet Not in passive inactivity - for this to be - But - such is my lot - and therein I can rest - With all the Good Lord has bestowed - with love - on me.
