So Easy Is The Diagnosis

I pick at the lint piles
on the carpet floor.
The vacuum cleaner
having long expired years ago.
Tired from all the sucking.
The cat hairs have nested in.
The early morning catalog of breakfast crumbs.
The dust mites will be unhappy,
I am removing their lot.
The psychiatrist at the doorway is
shaking his head, pad and pen in hand.
So easy is the diagnosis.
So clean now is my carpet.
