splendor in the grass no more®
Nothing else can compare
to His cutting edge how i could stare,
oh how cute He was
doing things that a Loving Man does!
I still see Him in the yard
but He doesn't come in and i am scarred,
for life such as it is anymore
just a mere existence i have for sure!
I look out now at the snow and see
how He shoveled it so faithfully,
but it piles up it doesn't care
maybe 1 day i'll drop over to be buried there!
My grass is cut by a neighbor
but everything else is too much labor,
the rest i have to beg and plead for
oh the burden i am just getting to the store!
There's so much else i need help with
but it's too much trouble that's not a myth,
why am i here when i'm such a burden
what ever happened to human compassion?
I got a Christmas Card from an old close friend
out of the blue i thought for sure a Godsend,
but with my news i must have scared her away
still waiting to hear back to this day!
I'd love to know what i'm supposted to do
wondering if help and yes money'll fall from the blue,
and what the purpose is i'm to fulfill
before lifted over this mountain being a full hill!
And what it is i have no idea how i will know
since i'm in a fog wherever i go,
IF i'm here long enuff to comply
cause i haven't the will to even try!
Oh how i used to love the smell
of His fresh cut grass i remember it well,
now the smell in the air of soon to be spring+summer
i just wanna breathe in peace with earthly slumber!
Oh i just wanna be
rollin in the clover over me,
why oh why was i left so bare
why is my green pasture so far away being unfair?
