The body is not just one part,
You have the feet, the eyes and heart;
Many parts from the head to toe,
Every place where blood will flow.
So each part has its own reason,
Instructions what needs to be done;
But fingers cannot understand,
What the eyes or ears would demand.
A commander will always reign,
In the nerve center of the brain;
Telling what all the parts to do,
And the direction to pursue.
We could be just driving along,
Our eyes maybe see something wrong;
They must let the commander know,
Where both the hands and feet must go.
Every part in you and me,
Has a job like the eyes can see,
The ears must hear as noses smell,
Just like the lips and tongue must tell.
God has given each of us gifts,
So all of the body uplifts;
Helping other parts do their part,
Keeping alive the soul and heart.
Think about it for in the next,
How things will be so complex;
If by chance you might not be there,
In the body of Christ to share.
