GOD'S BARD (I took the liberty of adding this title)
"Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made;
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor would the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky."
Meir Ben Isaac Nehoral
NOTE: I was given this poem unknowingly, until my friend Sandy, here on PP alerted
me that it was part of a Song entitled "THE LOVE OF GOD." Sure enough, after
researching Meir Ben Isaac Nehoral, I found that this was indeed, the last
stanza of a Bible Passage (John 3:16) made into a hymn. "Author: F.M.Lehman,
1869-1953, stanza 3 attr. To Meir Ben Isaac Nehoral, 1050. Musician: F.M. Lehman,
1869-1953, Arr. By Claudia Lehman Mays" To me, this stanza stood alone as a
beautiful Poem worth sharing. Anyone interested in reading the whole hymn need
only to look up Meir Ben Isaac Nehoral. Please accept my Apologies. Love, Pam
