THE CABIN

THE CABIN

Beyond the cabin, life circles like a merry-go-maze
In long white verses, someone gets married, but not me
Honeysuckles smile their way around my rainy days
With splashes of dew stained faces ready to agree

Sunlight paints an image against dangling shadows
Where leaves mimic cameo against parched wood
You watch the sienna river run beside the meadows,
As someone listens with their eyes, as if they could

~~~~~~~        ~~~~~~~
In a forested-hideaway, fingers retrieve a waiting quill
To write of moss draped trees birthing green branches,
A braid of lost sentiments dancing to their own trill
Years falling onto parchment of dreamed romances
~~~~~~~        ~~~~~~~

Scribble madly as you cry tears and blood with ink
Along the river banks, forest creatures will applaud you,
As you glue hours into voices to form your missing link
Hear them sing with each drop of ink, hear them…I do
