He passed away at age just 25,
He was a boxer fine and true.
But then he was told he was dying…
And even then, his legacy showed through!
I was saddened to read his story today,
It truly moved me to tears,
His thoughts he put on paper,
The turbulent feelings and fears!
For his message was all inspiring!
He spoke of his faith, a faith so true,
He was a proud believer in God,
And let the world know it, too!
For a young man to show of his pride in God,
Speaks volumes of this young man!
And I hope that all who reads his words,
May also call God as well as Omar, their fan!
This is a wonderful legacy to leave…
A legacy worn with pride!
On show to the entire world to see!
From a young man who so tragically died.
But his legacy will always live on!
Because God lives on forever!
