Always Reel Me In

You touch my heart

With tender hands,

Southern breeze flows from your mouth

Each word sends prickles

Of sweetness and pain

Till I feel your voice again

What you say can boil my blood

Or flow like and inlet stream…

We travel in dreams together at night

But only glance at dawn

Your fingerprints are on my soul

Like lightning-branded trees

You take me to the edge of life

                                            …and

                               always

                     reel

              me

         in

Counting Silver
