Solo Song For Two

I've no love poems of roses
Or yellow ribbons tied to trees,
No subtle trace of perfume
Carried on an evening breeze.
No my poems are different, of
Us cuddled there in bed
Feeling on my shoulder
The weight of your head.

The look on your face as
Seen from above
As we approach the climax
Of our making love.
The gradually growing change
From deep down in your eyes
Sometimes of sheer joy
Sometimes of surprise.

The lying there relaxing
Touching all the while,
The talking and exchanging
Of those contented smiles.
No, I've no love poems of roses
Or of ribbons tied round  trees
Just of the joy that comes
From our being you and me.
