My Special Valentine

While relationships are challenged
Almost from the very start
Yours and mine was different
We espoused each other’s heart

We didn’t look for reasons
Or excuses just to take.
Baby, both of us were givers…
We gave all…all for love’s sake.

And we proved to one another…
Proved to all our family
That what we had was special…
That it would last eternally.

We were so very much in love…
It showed in every smile.
It showed from the first moment
You claimed me in the aisle.

Our wedding day was wonderful
And every day then on.
Love grew from this beginning
And that love’s still so strong.

God has blessed this covenant
With a never ending love.
It’s survived through life and death
And continues up above.

I know you’re up there waiting
Until you see me bursting through.
And you are still my Valentine…
My heart still belongs to you.
