'' His Mercy Must Now Be Besought ''
This planet we inhabit is falling apart,
What we have done to her is not very smart,
From our Earth we will soon depart,
But not the way we all thought.
Lunar travel is all but a dream,
Our situation is now so extreme,
We truly thought we were supreme,
Now we are the ones feeling fraught.
Instead of nurturing what we had here,
We tried to reach for the final frontier,
Now we are all left living in fear,
Truth is we've finally been caught.
For our home we showed no care,
To other life forms we've been so unfair,
We're responsible for all this despair,
Humility we humans forgot.
It really leaves such a bitter taste,
That everything we've done has been in haste,
As humans stand we've been disgraced,
Our intelligence amounts to naught.
Our home we should have tried to mend,
But due to arrogance we refused to bend,
Now as we all await the end,
It's disaster we have brought.
Mother Nature we refused to placate,
With destiny we now have a date,
The demise of the planet will be our fate,
We have finally lost the plot.
Mass extinction is now a fact,
All because humans refused to act,
Maybe if we had shown some tact,
We wouldn't be so distraught.
What we have sown we shall now reap,
We can't escape we are in too deep,
Our promises we all refused to keep,
On the landscape we're a blot.
Our situation is now so dire,
The planet Earth is now on fire,
As a species we're about to expire,
Some would say, let them rot.
Life elsewhere can now breathe a sigh,
They would all agree we had to die,
With common sense we refused to comply,
In Gods universe we are but a dot.
The sky is angry it's now fiery red,
As the oceans boil we are filled with dread,
As God looks on all life is now dead,
