Poetic-Verses

'' It's Pure Beef In Everything But Name ''

I went in for a burger, a large one with cheese,
She said thank you sir we aim to please,
After you've eaten it we may need to appease,
But that's all part of our game.

Have you any hobbies the kind lady asked,
I said with gambling my life's been tasked,
She said, that's an industry that needs unmasked,
They should hang their heads in shame.

Enjoying your burger sir, she then said,
They also liked racing before they were dead,
I immediately thought, is she off her head,
This was one silly dame.

She asked dogs or horses when you place a bet,
I said anything it's a very big net,
That's when she asked do you feel under threat,
Then she said we are all in the frame.

When you place your next bet what are the odds,
The animal that's lost will end up with meat squads,
A burger or lasagne it's in the hands of the Gods,
Pure beef is what they'll proclaim.

She said any animal in here is fair play,
Monkeys or donkeys who is to say,
Will you live to eat one another day?
Or will we set your insides aflame.

At that my stomach started to churn,
My eyes and throat began to burn,
She said I don't think you will return,
I believe you'll be making a claim.

At that point my voice went totally mute,
She said we thought we were being astute,
Losing your voice is down to the bute,
My God you've made me feel shame.

That burger you ate was in the 2.45,
Just yesterday the poor thing was still alive,
No animal is safe not one will survive,
To us they are all the same.

There's monkey, donkey, horses and dogs,
Cats and rats and even large frogs,
Our industry's now came off the cogs,
We've lit a very large flame.

Our fast food ingredients are anyone's guess,
It's 100% anything more or less,
We didn't mean to cause such distress,
Like our meat our excuses are lame.

The stories being told are supposition and rumour,
The main thing is keeping a sense of humour,
We always ensure we remove any tumour,
Our integrity you must never maim.

Crematoriums and cemeteries are next on our list,
Meat is meat it will never be missed,
No need to worry we'll cut out the cyst,
A quality product is our ultimate aim.

No need to stop eating our delicious cuisine,
Even the government agrees it's pristine,
Mixed meat ingredients full of protein,
