 Penniluck's legacy

The Story Of Your Life

To my twin sons Billy and Glen who were born on February the 20Th 1970 and so are 43 years old today, love you always will my sons Mum xxx

It seems like only yesterday
I asked for a cup of tea
My wee brother Gordon
Made it just for me
But by the time he brought it
Which cost me half a crown
It was too late to drink it
So an ambulance came round
Don`t worry said my Maggie
These men know what to do
I said `Oh God I want to push`
And they said, `Humph, must You?
Don`t worry though you`ll be just fine
`Cause we`ve done this before
Just try dear not to push so hard
We`re nearly at the door
They hid their fear so very well
I couldn`t ask for more
The lovely midwife said to me
I`ll be back in a mo
While you get up into the bed
And then she turned to go
I just couldn`t lift my leg
So I just stood and cried
God help me I cannot climb up
And inwardly I sighed.
Oh dear she squeaked, my goodness
You surely are so heavy
As she and another midwife
Hiked me up, and got me ready
The room was full of students
All gasping just to see
Two little babies being born
So all stood watching me
Twenty minutes later
My baby boys touched base
I must have looked so happy
A stupid grin upon my face
Eight pound six, now that is Butch
Six pounds thirteen,his brother
We`ll call him Titch they giggled
Of course they asked their mother

Can`t believe how time has flown
Now they`re men, and fully grown
Love them still, they`ll always be
My baby boys, sent just for me
Hope today you laugh with joy
My bonnie, bonnie, handsome, boys.
