Across the street from dire straits
There where fate meets with too late
Resides a soul that seeks the Sun
The warmth once known now on the run
It was to be for they brought on
Demise of sorts where far too gone
Meets at corner of once upon
There where dreams once read like Psalms
Days have changed to more like nights
Of loneliness as lack of light
Left for dead a wayward soul
Left alone their story told
Yet up ahead on Boulevard
Illuminates the sign to GOD
A place to seek where refuge claims
Leaving not one, not one the same
The chase is on, embrace draws near
The hold of holds erasing fears
As breath returns to what was dead
A heart long starved feeding on bread
Corner turned from rags to riches
A place of peace of wounds and stitches
Are no more for healed are all that come to stay
Just up the block from yesterdays
