This continues an earlier poem God’s Love
With more practical aspects I am thinking of
If nothing can ever stand against the redeemed
Why should we fear Satan’s darts and schemes
Consider these true accounts from Bible history
Reflect on how they overcame great adversity
What can we learn from each of their lives today
In the dark storms and trials we face day by day
God told Abraham that Sarah would have a son
Yet she was past child-bearing years and barren
Humanly impossible but they trusted His word
By his seed came the promised Messiah foretold
David, small in stature, killed Goliath the giant
Defenseless on his own but in God he was valiant
What obstacle are you struggling with in your life
Trust God to bring you the victory in midst of strife
Paul and Silas at midnight from their prison cell
Praised God still not silenced His message to tell
Persecuted for their faith is why they were jailed
They remained faithful and God’s Word prevailed
This week three situations led to less work hours
Each one out of my control held by God’s power
President’s Day, Thursday snowstorm I left early
Two of us off half day from lack of work Friday
Gratefully I worked two 9 hour days this week
God enabled to offset rest of Thursday at least
Monday already budgeted throughout February
Friday unplanned but a nice little break anyway
No matter how unexpected a circumstance may be
God is continually helping me to realize and see
All things happen for a reason according to His plan
His best for me is not influenced by the ways of man
Romans 8:31-39 (ESV)
31 What then shall we say to these things?
If God is for us, who can be against us?
