As a child six foot tall
I was accused as too old
To join my friends trick or treating
An odd gangly boy
My back humped from a beating by dad
I couldn't wait to be a teenager
But it changed me not
At twenty finally one year
I could go to the bar
I was always the only one carded
The only one who drank soft drinks
Thirty nine everyone lies about their age
No one believed me if I said I was forty
Fifty a half century then the speed limit
Any one remember when the speed limit was 65?
I could retire but I was too young
Seventy was just a bump in the road
Who was it who said my life expectency was 75?
