Too many bullets too many guns,
Surrounded by death nowhere to run,
Boozed up but battle memories still remain,
Temporary relief from a needle in his vein,
Still he can't erase the flashbacks of the people he maimed,
Armchair warriors talk a good game,
Leaving out the parts that are gory;
Telling tales of patriotism, war and its glory…
The army amputee is living a different version of the story,
Everything laid bare no room for vanity,
Like a torn fabric he's only threads away from losing sanity,
Too many bullets too many guns,
Surrounded by death nowhere to run,
Only two ways out, in a box or insane
Hoping that an Overdose will stop his pain,
DOA in the USA
Suicide, the ameriKKKan way…
A soldiers story.
