Sounds like thunder…
But in ain't,
Flashes of light...
But lightning it ain't,
The smell of sulfur in the air,
Sandbags filled with earth burst,
Still haven't seen the worst,
Concussive shock waves have me
Feeling like I'm standing
At the center of an earthquake,
But I ain't,
Coughing, gagging breathing dirt,
I know I'm still alive,
Because dead men don't choke,
So, there still is hope…
That I can claw myself out in time,
My sweat mixing with the dirt and debris,
Making a more muddier me,
Memories...
Reflections, on almost being buried alive
