From the Heart Through the Pen

yosph
Thoughts a thousand miles a minute
Wait...a second
Cord around my neck
How tight can they get it
Before you break out in a panic
Take a sec to listen...but...

They can't hear my underwater screams
Or see the blue butterflies produced
From sunlit dreams
The never ending fall we dread
Or do we mean the impact instead

Hmmmm...
Meanwhile hit a wall
I'm too lazy to climb
Turned around to find
Her looking for him
But she confuses me for his twin
Saying if only she could meet someone like me

(Shrug) That's what I get
Falling for a woman who's blind
Who knew that wall I hit
Was really the floor
And instead of scaling it
I'm stuck crawling
With the shore nowhere in sight
Makes for long days and even longer nights

Left right left right left
Time to march to a different beat
But the rhythms too quick for my feet
I stumble while she trips
She fumbles
So much for her air tight grip
Recovering the heart she theft

Or is it thieved
Either way forget what I said earlier
Jury came back with a guilty verdict
Judge handed down the death sentence
Feel free for panic to set in since
I'm down to my last breath
Some may be relieved
No telling how long I've been left here to hang
Spirits diminished
Though my pulse somehow still breathes
