I'll be raising the flag at half past three
mr and mrs simpson are coming for tea
we've cleaned the room and the hall and stairs
paying particular attention to the pussy cat hair
my wife is cooking after disinfecting her hands
and tidying her hair back in sterile bands
she says she's cooking a bit of a spread
and I'm not allowed a slice of bread
to dunk in my gravy and mop it up
and I've to drink my tea from a cup
I've got a list of don'ts and do's
and I'm to watch my p's and q's
they've been our friends for years and years
but my wife still has her little fears
she say's I have to shave and wash
cos compared to us the simpson's are posh.
