The Barrier

There will always be a barrier
Between us and our Creator.
 Without repentance we allow
Sin to be a separator.

In ancient times a temple Vail
Prevented entrance to
The Holy Place where God abode…
 Only temple priests got through.

This all changed with Jesus Christ…
 His victory on The Cross…
Because that Vail was torn in half…
 Its preventive power loss.

God offered up a spotless Lamb…
 A sacrifice for sin.
And ONLY through His Precious Blood
Can man reach God again.

Acceptance of God’s gift of love…
Repentance of each wrong
Will take us to the Inner Court
Where the blessed of God belong.

Remaining in the outer courts…
Depending on some other means...
Rather than the finished work of Christ
Neither restores nor redeems.

 Some religions are a barrier…
Built on rules rather than Grace.
But if we are to follow Christ…
We won’t find Him in this place.

Take us past the man-made altars…
Past the fanfare and façade.
Let the Cross of Christ forever
Be our pathway back to God.

T’was on an old and rugged Cross
Jesus bought our liberty.
That’s the good part of Good Friday…
That’s God’s gift to you and me.

~~Dedicated to Liny-girl~~

2 Corinthians 5:19
God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ,
not counting men's sins against them. And he has
committed to us the message of reconciliation.

Matthew 27:51
And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice,
he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain
of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.
The earth shook and the rocks split.

Hebrews 9:11
When Christ came as high priest of the good thing
that are already here he went through the greater
and more perfect tabernacle that is not man-made,
that is to say, not a part of this creation.

Hebrews 4:16
Let us then approach the throne
of grace
with confidence, so that we may receive mercy
and find grace to help us in our time of need.
