In the beginning there was but Him
The GOD of life that took all dim
Unto himself as light His shed
By Sun hands made by Him who said
Let there be light and there was light
To warm the Earth and cold souls plight
As land and water and all that lives
Sustained this day freely He gives
He'd make both man and woman too
To love another from man He drew
Love no less to feel as He
For children His eternally
The world would turn their back on Him
As time marched on mans biggest sin
Turned against GOD and His ways
Assuming charge as yesterday
Mans logic and all he makes
Runs rampant and still forsakes
The just and true that made such things
Become what is, all His something
The past and present are joined at hip
As Life is passed and time does slip
Away this day through hands ungrateful
Through choice all mans, instead of faithful
He'd send His son to make amends
To speak but truth to heal and mend
The lost yet in mans thought process
He'd pay a debt upon mans crosses
He breathed forgiveness before death came
To take what was mans sin and shame
Then rose again on the third day
Proof His death brought us the way
The way to live for Him not us
To share what's left, in Him to trust
Before time draws our final breath
To leave this world with life not death
