THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL - FOR ALL

"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

Written 29 : 3 : 2013

by S.C. Mitchell.
""""""""""""""

He Wept - They Slept .
""""""""""""""""""""""

They followed Him from the table to Gethsemane -
Where He prayed - and they slept -
They slept - He wept -
He wept great drops of bloodied sweat -
He sweat - and conquered - Death -
While they  slept

He Was Kissed - That Dreadful Kiss .
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

He was kissed - that dreadful kiss -
The kiss of a friend - selling Him to His enemies  -
He was arrested - from that kiss -
He was abandoned -by His friends - after that kiss -
They fled - in panic - from that kiss -
While He was led away .

He Stood In Silence .
"""""""""""""""""""""

He stood before His enemies - in silence -
They accused and threatened - He was silent -
He was silent as they mocked -
He said nothing - no defence - no pleas -
Silent - His response to them
Was - Silence.

His Friends Had Run Away.
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""

His friends had run away - among the crowd -
Peter stood - afraid - by the fire - ashamed he stood -
' You were with Him ' someone said -
' I never knew the man ' - Never !  Never ! -
Then the cock crowed - thrice -
It broke his heart -
He wept.

I Wash My Hands Of This Your King
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

'I wash my hands of this your king' - the ruler said -
The crowds grew angry at these words -
'Caesar is our ruler - we have no king ' -
They cried as one -  ' this man must die ' -
'Crucify  ' -  they cried  - ' Crucify - Crucify ! -
Then they led Him off to die .

He Stumbled On Towards the Gift.
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

Scourged - broken - bloodied - bruised and battered -
Barely recognizable as a man - but He embraced the cross -
As if a gift - a gift  to be embraced - not shunned -
He stumbled with this gift -
Stumbled and fell - but He went on towards the bitter end -
He stumbled on - towards the gift -
For all of  us

That Was The Price He Paid
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""

That was the price He paid - a costly price -
No man could pay - but only  - God -
While some mocked - some gambled - some joked - some scoffed -
But His mother watched - and waited -
Waited and watched - until the sword plunged into her heart -
He died .

This Is Not The End
""""""""""""""""""""

This is not the end - This is the beginning -
Of hope for all men -
Hope for a New start -
Hope for a door to open -
Hope for the healing of the broken hearts -
And hope for our souls - He told us all -
' If I be lifted up - I will draw all men to Myself ' -
He was lifted up .

The Door was open -

The gift received -

New life begins -

HE IS ALIVE

"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

God richly bless you this Easter time .

with the Greatest Gift of

Salvation

Stella
