Why Crime
This has been sounding sadly in a universal voice
That there is no doubt that crime has taken a rise
Like an epidemic it has avoided all types of solutions
And governments are trying to amend and repeal legislations
But what could be responsible for such an upsurge
Could it be that there is some form of uncontrollable urge?
To obtain and timely what is considered the latest trend
A situation to which their budgets cannot extend
In some countries there has been an advertisement so bold
That some retailers are making this offer of cash for gold
And this desire has cause some perpetrators to readily pounce
As they get attracted by the high cost of gold for the ounce
How one heart is hurt to hear in the news how the elderly
Are victims too and the attacks are more often very savagely
It just show the intent and the extent of the type of measures
Done to ensure that they can secure what is to them a treasure
Some folk too came home hoping to rest so peacefully
But when inside the sight brought a feeling so sadly
Because the interior has been swept so cleanly
Leaving nothing taking even those things of value sentimentally
Another sign they can display is one of such great anger
And this too can place the victim in such a great danger
As there was such great effort to effect this crime
And the returns was nothing much for the spent time
Those experts may say that it is the effects of the recession
That may be responsible for this type of precipitation
