Reparation
Some time ago the world was greeted with the news
That there was judgment meted out in favor of the Jews
Which stated that they should be get some form of reparation
Compensated for the atrocities of the holocaust s' infliction
There was hope that this would set some for m of precedence
And would be an argument that could be of some type of legal substance
So that those who are of the Diaspora of the African descendent
Would have clear grounds for such based on quite similar argument
This type of humiliation was perpetrated for about three hundred year or more
Look the length of time that this race such behavior had to endure
One can only but cringe by the pain inflicted on them at the whims and fancies
Sometimes just for fun by those slave owners, friends and members of their families
Then come the era that was called that period of emancipation
Even after this the pain and suffering was certainly not done
There were many still fueled by spite, prejudices and downright hate
Who were still on a vendetta to keep things in a particular state?
How they still continued to dig deeper that particular chasm
Whose wall and pillar of support were fortified with racism?
There was a over-boiling of rancor laced with such vitriol
This was the feast prepared by and served at the triple “k” table
There was no doubt that could most certainly die
As it would be considered disrespectful to look a white man in the eye
And all too a similar fate could so often befall them
If they show any admiration no matter how slight for a white women
Could be too be used as scapegoat and this happened many a time
That they could be blame for being the perpetrator of a crime
Tried as he may and even up to death to prove his innocence
As afore mentioned this did not stop the carrying out of the sentence
And in present day there is still that issue of the glass ceiling
Sometimes getting some position on can see tokenism showing
Because there are cases despite having the requisite qualification
Pigmentation may be a factor that can hinder that promotion
Amid all that there can be some justification for reparation
Many countries may become bankrupt by this process of restitution
So perhaps they can be some way to share the pie fairly
And let us all go forward knowing full well there is equal opportunity
