Spring Time

Their yellow petals shine in the rising sun,
Natures alarm clock says Spring has begun.
Daffodils awaken in a blanket of dew,
Frozen and cold on a day that's new.

The bitter wind has calmed to a gentle breeze,
Blowing ever so gently through the naked trees,
It sings a tune to which the blue birds tweet,
Humming an echo through the busy streets.

It's a time of new beginnings; new lives begin,
It makes people smile and feel a warmth within,
For the winter is over and Summer in sight,
The snow is behind us and the sun is bright.

As the sky settles and the night time falls,
Daylight passed as the moonlight called,
The daffodils settle and close in to rest,
Personally for me, Spring time is the best.
