 Carol's Journey

Split Toenail With Analogy

For years a problem with my pinky toe
But recent new discoveries now I know
Podiatrist was wrong in his treatment
Causing a never ending predicament

Others may benefit from these details
How to resolve issues of a split toenail
Cutting it off is not the right thing to do
It will keep growing and coming back too

Putting on support socks became painful
Snagged on my toe but I tried to be careful
Then it rubbed along the side of my shoe
One day I wore house slippers at work too

My foot doctor was booked up three days
But God intervened in His own gentle way
Prompting me to get my very first pedicure
Where would I go; it was beyond me for sure

A voice said to ask my hair stylist at the salon
I went knowing she was a lady I could count on
Mondays she did pedicures but it was Wednesday
She referred me to another salon not too far away

Sign on the door walk-in customers were accepted
Lady not there but the next day I could be scheduled
That would be great finally hope for relief in sight
Next day after work pedicure was a relaxing delight

The lady gave me a discount on nail polish treatment
Apply 3-4 times per week to harden nails like cement
Eventually the split nail will blend in as it grows out
It will take persistence and some time without a doubt

There is a spiritual analogy here that God gave to me
From our birth we are all separated from Him you see
Trying to get to heaven our way just like split toenails
The nail treatment of Jesus is the only cure that prevails

Until we realize our sin and the price paid by His blood shed
We are eternally lost without His remedy our souls to mend
Have you come to the foot of the cross where He died for you
If not, Jesus is waiting for you to place your faith in Him too

Isaiah 53:5-6 (Amplified Version)

5  But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and
iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was
upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.

6 All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned every one to his own way; and the
Lord has made to light upon Him the guilt and iniquity of us all.
