The soul has much to say

An ordinary moment...

She removes
her wings

and curls up
next to me

Taking nothing
for granted

Pulling her
inside my soul

Inconsistent
song

for my heart
skips a beat

She seeks
reassurance

Shelter
in a fortress of flesh

Picking her up
in my arms

Holding a miracle
under the moonlight

Southern wind
catches the scent

of desert flowers
from her hair

"Never let me go" falls
from her perfect lips

as she drifts off
into the night

Sleep
my pride and joy

I'm anxious
for tomorrow

For when
dawn breaks

it'll be time
to rediscover her

all over
again
