Things Past By EDWIN FLORES, www.PoetryPoem.com/poetry2231 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
There was a time of long ago
A place where rest met less and some fore go
The path to peace and hurt becomes
Much less, near gone of battles won
Common nature holds us back
But faith is what is really lacked
Our wars are fought beyond the fields
Of eyes searching, crying what feels
The end to things and breath it steals
Hold fast dear ones who know not Him
You who failed to know such things
Are His to make for his resolve
Has no end to change and solve
The old that's you of any age
Has love holding life's next page
Your life He wrote before your birth
Chapters new to Him of worth
Much worth is made of you he made
To live as He who paid and saved
A sum of fears yet yours to have
A pit of grief much worst than sad
Your chance today becomes one more
One more day or hour scored
A symphony yet to be heard
A masterpiece, your soul He stirs
Grab hold the present, let go the past
For nothing there makes first now last
A product of your failures born
Born of loss, but you not scorned
GOD makes good on promise made
Not one more lost for ransom paid
The child in you He rose to save
