Travelling West

                  Travelling West         April 14, 2013

Going away, leaving this land, It's goodbye today
Travelling west to live my life the American way
Thinking about things, the big bird I can see
Remembering the heroes who gave it for me
I'm off to my new land; I'm having a few
With a bag full of thoughts and dreams of the new
I said my goodbye's and shared a few cries
It has to be done; I have to go as I watch my life fly
My new land waits and will welcome me
I'm gonna make it there, just wait and see
I'll be singing Irish songs with thoughts in my head
Of the heroes of before, we know what they said
Going away, leaving this land, It's goodbye today
Travelling west to live my life the American way
