The Lonely Heart
I would but just my soul to bare
That pen to paper should I dare
When loneliness is all to share
Words fall short and have no flair
Far it seems a closest friend
One on which you can depend
When emptiness your heart does rend
And thus in life you seek an end
For lonely is a broken heart
Cold, confused, baring and dark
With one desire from this you part
A lonely poem can hold no art
Days are long and nights no sleep
Thoughts run wild, afraid and deep
Wrapped inside the pain you reap
As one more tear from your eyes seep
Surely there is hope somewhere
A fleeting moment should I care
To write of this and take that dare
I would but just my soul to bare!
