`*+*...`Welcome To My Christian Circle Of Faith* Hope* Love*...`*+*`

...Roman Catholic Christian Facts and General Knowledge...
..Catholic Belief..

I...To gain the happiness of heaven we must know, love,
serve God in this world.
Man must know, love and serve God in a supernatural manner
in order to gain happiness of heaven.
Man is raised to the supernatural order only by grace,
a free gift of God.

II...We learn to know, love, and serve God
from Jesus Christ, the Son of God,
who teaches us through the Catholic Church.

III...In order to be saved, all persons who have
attained the use of reason must believe explicitly
that God exist and that he rewards the good
and punishes the wicked;
in practice they must also believe in the mysteries
of the Blessed Trinity and the Incarnation.

IV...By the Blessed Trinity we mean one and the same God
in three divine persons,
the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

V...By the Incarnation is meant that the Son of God,
retaining His divine nature, took to Himself a human nature,
that is, a body and soul like ours.

VI...The Church is the congregation of all baptized persons
united in the same true faith, the same sacrifice,
and the same sacraments, under the authority of the Sovereign
Pontiff and the bishops in communion with him.

VII...We find the chief truths taught by Jesus Christ
through the Catholic Church in the Apostles' Creed.

...The Apostles Creed...
A prayer of Faith in the teaching of Jesus and His Church.
 I believe in God,
 the Father Almighty,
 Creator of Heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
 born of the Virgin Mary,
 suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried.
 He descended to the dead.
On the third day, He rose again.
He ascended to Heaven and is seated
at the right hand of the Father, God Almighty,
He will come again to judge the living and the dead,
and there shall be no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
 the Holy Catholic Church,
 the communion of saints,
 the forgiveness of sins,
 the resurrection of the body,
 and life everlasting. Amen.

...The Commandments...

Besides believing what God has revealed,
we must keep His law.

the commandments of God and of the Church,
and perform the spiritual and corporal works of mercy.

...The Ten Commandments of God...

...Act Of Contrition...

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you,
and I detest all my sins, because of Your just punishments,
but most of all because they offend You, my God,
who are all-good and deserving of all my love.
I firmly resolve, with the help of Your Grace,
to sin no more and to avoid the near occasion of sin.

   Act of Contrition (modern)

My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart.
In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good,
I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things.
I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more,
and to avoid whatever leads me to sin.
Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us.
In His name, my God, have mercy.
