The ways of peace are often known to cross
A battle scarred and weary land - where skirmishes -
And wars - have left their mark - upon the cratered wastes
And lives - of burdened man . 

From these come longings of a quiet hearth - to
Warm the trodden paths of daily toil - where those who
Soldier on - can find respite amidst their labour - which
Leaves them tired and worn - from whence their souls
Recoil .

Such longings of a better day - when angry voices 
Cease to have their way - and silence reigns supreme - and
Sunshine replaces dullest grey - and flowers and 
Gentle hearts -  live side by side - in harmony - besides 
Life's quiet flowing streams .

This  then -  is Peace - when 
God is God - and Sovereign Lord - and 
All is calm - serene - when wars and
Strivings cease.
