The Plane of Pain
The Plane of Pain April 28, 2013
Going away with Irish pride, I'm on my own on this plane of pain
Donegal behind me as I say goodbye, in the past it will remain
With my memories of Ireland, I'm on my way to my future full of dreams
I watch others beside me that fly this bird, so happy, that's how it seems
Little kids with mums and dads breaking ties, looking to the future
Saying goodbye with a tear in their eye, their luggage full of dreams
Today so full of sorrow, tomorrow no time to play
Life will begin in their dreamland many miles away
The final hug, the shoulder shrug, I finally have my say
Boston town for this Irish guy as the big plane flies the sky
I say goodbye to the land I love as I block a little cry
Going away with Irish pride, I'm on my own on this plane of pain
Donegal behind me as I say goodbye, in the past it will remain
