PARALYZING FEAR

I'm a good person
But I'm so afraid
I feel it in me
From past mistakes I've made
I just want to give up
Stay inside
Ball up the fear
And hide.

I'm a good person
But I'm so afraid
Like a dark stormy night
A path is laid
Life gets better
Then it gets worse
Why should I keep living
When it seems to be a curse?

I'm a good person
But I'm so afraid
I won't make it
I will sink
You will judge me
And it will stink

I'm a good person
But I'm so afraid
All I can do is go on today
Get down on my knees and pray
Please God let life go my way

I'm a good person
But I'm so afraid
I won't pass the test
The devil will raid
This little soul
Where rhymes roll out
I don't like to be
What fear is about

I'm a good person
But I'm so afraid
I might go to hell
If I do what Satan laid
Down in my mind
It cannot outshine
The good in life
Get me out of this fear
O Lord, do you hear?

I'm a good person
But I'm so afraid
Living with these past mistakes I've made
Trying to rectify them
Keep away from sin
O my God
How I need a friend
Just like you
With light a shining
Let me live
Forget the whining
Get off the pity pot
I'm a good person
I've proved it a lot
In these 57 years
With smiles and tears
I've cared for you
Now, care for me too.

I'm a good person
But I'm so afraid
I hate this thing the paralyzes
The good person who meets goals
Who cleans up good
Who rhymes the rolls
Of the wheels that go 'round in her head
Oh God save me I don't want dead.
