Poetic-Verses

Because It's Us Not The Roads That Kill ''

It's on the news there's a killer road,
It's a term that's tried and tested,
On quite a few it's been bestowed,
Does that mean they'll be arrested.

They're saying it's killed once again,
Don't these things feel any shame?
To kill so many they must be insane,
Why don't they accept the blame?

If we killed people the way they do,
It's a murder charge we would face,
Our victim's relatives would then sue,
Those found guilty would be in disgrace.

Repeat offenders are what they are,
They kill day in and day out,
Their behaviour is really quite bizarre,
Total madness without a doubt.

The problem is these roads don't talk,
With our rules they don't comply,
It's the nutters on our roads they stalk,
They watch as they recklessly die.

They really are a terrible shower,
These roads that maim and destroy,
Gifted with some awesome power,
That can injure and also destroy.

With feelings they can't be endowed,
Or they'd take time out to pause,
Does damaging so many make them proud?
They do not respect our laws.

Will justice in our time prevail?
Or is it we don't have the will,
A prosecution would ultimately fail,

‘'Because It's Us Not The Roads That Kill?
