Walk Our Streets Together

Walk our Streets Together              May 11, 2013

If I could visit the years gone by with my heroes by my side
I'd walk the streets of Ireland together, at peace and full of pride
If I could have them with me, my heroes walking free
Heroes from our past beside me, with stories for you and me
Killed dreaming of freedom, Ireland will be free
The game they played carries on, hang around and see
The revenge will be children's laughter, just wait and you will see
My heroes would walk beside me to the little streets where drums did beat
To the gas yard wall and the other, walk the Bogside full of pride
To Belfast town where the walls divide I hope they go for sure
The little towns around this land, we lost another Irish son
In Tyrone, and Armagh, they fought, heroes every one
We would visit the past and the future, with dreams of things to come
They would speak about peace in our land, with the best still to come
If I could visit the years gone by with my heroes by my side
I'd walk the streets of Ireland together, at peace and full of pride
