The Train Ride
We humans live in fear of death and what it may bring,
As I come closer to my long home, I wonder if I've done anything.
The Lord wants us to be strong when times get tough,
I ask Him each night, if I've done enough.
His answer comes quickly as I lay down at night,
“What makes you think that you can ever do enough to make it right"?
You were born in sin and you'll always be,
Someone who could never live with me, for eternity.
The shame that Adam brought upon people like you,
Can never be erased by the deeds that you do.
I knew of this flaw that you had before your world began,
But my plan makes old dead souls like yours, fresh and young again.
My Son has been with me since before your time began,
And my love for Him is greater than you will ever understand.
Because of the sin that Adam and Eve made,
I had to save your world in a new and different way.
I went to my Son and I told Him of my plan,
Way back, before your time began.
I chose a peaceful day, by the river of life,
And I told Him of a world full of sin and strife.
I wrote ten simple rules for them to go by,
So that they could live in Our House, with You and I.
But they were blind and they could not see,
The home that I built for them in eternity.
I gave them free will, but they are still blind,
And now only You, can save all of mankind.
I want you to go to this place that We call Earth,
And to a Virgin, I will give you birth”.
So Jesus was born in a manger of straw,
Our Bibles tell us just what He saw.
A world filled with hate and anger,
To this world, He was indeed a stranger.
They treated him like dirt, but as our Bible says,
He still healed the sick and raised the dead.
In His life, He did nothing but good,
But they still put Him to death, on a cross made of wood.
But His Dad kept His word and after three short days,
Jesus said goodbye forever to the grave.
Now He is alive again, young and strong,
And He's got a fast train running, all day long.
His train runs on love,
And all you have to do,
Is love Him back for what He did for you.
The train ride is free; He paid the cost,
By what He did for us that day, on that cross.
