Come Back
Return to the Lord your God,
And confess that you are flawed;
You have stumbled for your sin,
And are now blind deep within.
Return to the Lord and say,
That you will trust and obey;
Ask upon Him to forgive,
For a new life you can live.
Then give praise with your tongue,
Holy words from your mouth flung;
Tell Him no longer this earth,
Has nothing of godly worth.
So never again will you,
Venture into the untrue;
Places where a pagan worships,
Repeating chants from your lips.
But I will attempt to cure,
Unfaithfulness and make pure;
Those with idols made by hand,
That are now on sinking sand.
They are orphans that need love,
A Father image thereof;
No longer should God condemn,
So no longer angered at them.
Like dew of early hours,
They will blossom like flowers;
Firmly root like the tall pine,
Reaching up to the Divine.
Like the vineyard full of vines,
Producing the choicest wines;
As wheat grows from sun and rain,
For reaping a golden grain.
Wise people will understand,
That their fruit comes from the land;
Righteously pure from insight,
And where the Lord shines so bright.
